Michael Miller
FE Director
Michael Miller joined Young Life staff in 2014 as the Midwest Division’s Development Director after 40 years in the marketplace where he was a banker, a small business owner and executive at a mega-church. He became the Director of Foundation Engagement in 2020. Michael and his wife Kathy live in Michigan, have two adult children and three grandsons. Michael and Kathy have been long time Young Life committee and donors. Michael led the Timber Wolf Lake Development team 2000-2008.

Travis Johnson
Sr. Grant Coordinator
Travis is a 17-year Young Life Mission Services veteran. While his responsibilities include foundation research, grant writing, coaching, and program development, he likes to sum it up this way: he’s a storyteller, and he works to equip talented Young Life staff to tell the stories of their mission well. Travis is the Grant Coordinator for the Southeast and Northwest divisions. He is married to Charis, and has two children.

Mary is a Grant Coordinator supporting the Eastern and Midwestern Divisions. Her goal is to empower local areas up through divisional initiatives to build lasting relationships with foundations, increasing overall sustainable funding.

Jason Bush
Grant Coordinator
Jason went to his first Young Life High School club in 1990. He then served for four years as a college leader and student staff. After college, Jason spent a few years in Landscape Architecture but was quickly called back to the ministry to serve five years as a church youth director and then 15 years as a Young Life Area Director. Jason joined the FE Team in July of 2021 and is excited to serve staff across the mission. Jason worked closely with his grant coordinator throughout his time as an Area Director with much success. Now, he works to serve the staff with the care and attention given to him! Jason is married to Emily and has two children.

Melanie Kuoch
Grant Coordinator
Melanie met her Young Life leader when she was 16 years old. She came to know Jesus because of the consistent presence and love shown to her through her leader. She served as a leader, team leader, and student staff throughout college. After graduating, Melanie worked for a few different Christian non-profits before the Lord called her back to Young Life. She served on Field Staff with YoungLives (Young Life’s ministry to pregnant and parenting teens) in Nashville and New York City. While in New York City, Melanie worked closely with the YoungLives team to collaborate on a variety of grants to support and surround young mothers and their children. In May 2023, Melanie joined Mission Services in the Financial Services Department and is excited to serve Field Staff on the FE team. She is looking forward to using the wisdom she gained from her experience in the field to embrace each story that comes her way. Melanie is married to Andy, and they have a golden doodle named Mochi.

Alyssa Alderman
Grant Coordinator
Alyssa joins the Foundations Engagement team after 6 years of serving on the Young Life Africa/Middle development team. She is excited about the immense growth of Young Life internationally as incredible leaders all over the globe reach teenagers with the gospel. Alyssa will work to assist these international teams with grants for Young Life programs to further their ministry impact. She is married to Grant, and has two children.
